Welcome to the softest, queerest & Weirdest
support group you never knew you needed.
Next group launches:
Now? End of September?
Groups are FREE to attend & there is no selling of anything at any point.
Groups are peer-to-peer led and moderated.
Please read this page in full before registering for a group.
What to expect:
- We know healing isn’t linear. Some folks are in treatment or recovery, some are in maintenance phases of life, some are just here to survive the day. We welcome you as you are. Previous experience with therapy or support groups is not required. There is no long term commitment but we value showing up for each other consistency.
- This is a neurodivergent and anti-oppressive safe space. We honor our diverse minds and bodies and we honor our diverse ways of thinking, feeling and seeing the world. We honor that every human has their own way of communicating and participating in a group setting and no rules of engagement except mutual respect — and raising your hand to unmute if folks are already talking.
- Sessions are 60-90 minutes once a week depending on the agenda and vibe of the group at the time. You have permission to come and go as you please – you do not need to be on time or stay the whole time – you can engage at your own comfort level.
- We follow a loose format and similar routine every week, but the group is a living breathing organism that will change from time to time and week to week based on group needs.
- We are not a sober space (sober in 2025 is lolz) however we do not allow consuming any mind-altering substances on camera as many group members have chosen sobriety for their own path and seeing their old drug of choice can be really triggering. This ban includes smoking of any kind and drinking alcohol on camera. Also, if you are too intoxicated to speak with thoughtful intention, we will kindly ask that you take the night off from participating verbally or in chat. You can float silently in the background as high as you need to cope, we do not shame substance use here. We work hard to make this a harm-reduction space.
- This is a peer-to-peer support group organized by me, A. Moonbeam, a neurodivergent, queer, cis woman who uses she/her pronouns and rejects the idea that you need a license to help people help themselves stay alive.
- This group is 100% free and we will never try to sell you anything. I solemnly swear it to you. I might talk about the book I’m writing a lot, but that’s not to sell it to you, cuz the book will also be offered for free (digitally of course, I’m not rich).
- Camera on, camera off, or back and forth — totally your call. No rules around how much you engage.
- Every session will cover in tandem or cycling through 6 overarching themes:
- Emotional regulation
- Activities of daily living support
- Trauma processing
- Managing stress
- Relationship guidance
- Peer support for struggles with addiction
(this isn’t an anonymous group in the traditional sense, but you can use any name you want and stay off camera. We deeply respect privacy, but let me be clear: this is not AA, and it’s not affiliated with any legacy mental health or faith-based group from before LunaMade.Me was born in 2025.)
- Every session will provide space for a queue to form of anyone who needs the mic to verbally process anything going in their life that they want to bring to the group. There are no time limits on shares. We get to as many people as we can and we respect each other’s bandwidth. We all work hard to make enough room for everyone who needs it and are patient with each other because we know our own time of need will come.
- Group roles:
- GAIR – Group Anchor-in-Residence:
In general, their role is simply to facilitate a good experience. They plan topics, moderate and problem solve if anything tough comes up, and fill up any extra awkward silence during sessions. They will not do most of the talking, group members will. - Group members:
Ideally, this is a mix of newcomers and seasoned souls attendees who are all at different levels of their “healing journey” and different ages with different backgrounds, abilities and interests. The types of people you’ll find in group with vary, but we can guarantee a few things:- Hate/bigotry/intolerance will never be tolerated and anyone who violates our Community Code of Ethics will be banned from the group permanently.
- Anyone who disrupts the group in a malicious way (regardless of intent) that does not rise to the level of breaking our Code of Ethics but is still bad vibes will be asked to take a break for 2 weeks and then do a 1:1 with Moonbeam or a Mod before coming back to the group and doing rupture/repair work.
- You will be among fam. We are queer, we are weird, we are all almost guaranteed to be on some kind of spectrum, and the normies would really have to work pretty hard to find us in this hidden little portal of the interweb. Also, there’s no way to tell atm, but I’m pretty sure this community will end up being mostly stoners and mostly artists as well.
- Group moderators:
Someone who is monitoring the chat, taking notes and making sure things flow well in the background. These are people you can tag if you need a break out room to talk 1:1 with someone as we work through difficult topics. The GF will introduce who this is at the start of each group and keep their name on the screen as much as possible for reference.
- GAIR – Group Anchor-in-Residence:
Group format:
- 60-90 minutes – schedule 90 and we end after an hour that’s bonus self-care time. The video portal will stay open 90 minutes and we’ll close when it feels natural to do so.
- We follow this general routine each week:
- Check-in / Warm-up / Ice-Breaker:
Something will be on the screen to inspire you to arrive at the group thoughtful and in touch with how you’re doing that day. It might be the online sandtray or an open white board to scribble on, or a 1 minute journal prompt, or a question to consider. The group facilitator (Moonbeam) will guide a discussion on the Ice Breaker and when that feels complete, we will move on to the day’s topics. - Topics of the day:
1 or 2 topics will be introduced by the Group Facilitator and then prompting questions will be asked of the group and displayed on the screen. From there, anyone and everyone can come off mute and start talking one at a time. The GF and Mods will attempt to keep things from getting super chaotic. But each group member needs to hold self-accountability for muting themselves when appropriate and not interrupting each other. It’s always awkward on video chats when no one knows who’s gonna talk first and then two people start talking at the same time. We honor that awkward space and just flow through it – let them battle out who goes first and who mutes, we are grown ups, we can do it. - Break:
5-10 minute break to stretch, hydrate, pee, cry, smoke a bowl, vibe out… whatever your nervous system needs. - Circle Back:
Covering anything we put on hold or need to discuss before next week, a little preview of what to prepare for the following week, and some kind of closing question, song, video or image to round things out and send everyone on their way until next week.
